On this date in 1990, Ken Griffey Sr. and Ken Griffey Jr. hit back-to-back home runs against the Angels at Anaheim Stadium. They became the first father-son duo in Major League history to hit consecutive home runs.
After a walk to Harold Reynolds leading off the game, Senior stepped to the plate in the top of the 1st inning and drove an 0–2 offering from Angels right-hander Kirk McCaskill over the fence in center field. Not to be outdone by his father, Junior immediately followed with home run of his own to left-center field.
