‘No excuses’ for injured Dee Gordon, but he’s expecting much-improved second half for Mariners

The way Seattle Mariners fans have gravitated toward Dee Gordon, how he was seemingly involved in the team’s most electric moments in the first half of the year – whether on the field or in the dugout – and his havoc-wreaking on the base paths, Gordon was looked like one of the best offseason acquisitions in baseball.

But ask him about his first half.

“I sucked, to be honest,” he said, with a laugh as he looked down. “There were times I was just sitting there, just sucking, and I was like, ‘I stink.’”

He’s being overly critical.
