STUART, Fla. (WPEC) - A naked man surrendered to deputies following a brief standoff and shooting in Stuart.

It happened Saturday in the Coral Gardens subdivision.

The Martin County Sheriff's Office said William Pharmer, 68, fired a gun toward his friend at a house on SE Harrison Street. The bullet went through the ceiling of the house.

Pharmer refused to come out of the house once deputies arrived on scene. He ultimately surrendered after negotiating.

Pharmer walked out dressed in his birthday suit. Deputies gave him a hospital gown to cover up.

No one was hurt in the incident.
