Motter helps Mariners rally past Phillies

Gamel not only went 4-for-5 with one double, one home run, one walk and four RBIs, but he threw out Daniel Nava at the plate to end the eighth inning to keep the game tied. The Mariners (16-17) can move to .500 with a victory in Wednesday's series finale. The Phillies (13-18) have lost nine of their last 11 games.

MOMENTS THAT MATTERED

Eickhoff struggles again: The Phillies took a 4-0 lead in the first inning following back-to-back home runs from Michael Saunders and Tommy Joseph. But Phillies right-hander Jerad Eickhoff could not hold the lead as he allowed a two-run homer to Cano in the third and a three-run homer to Gamel in the fourth to hand the Mariners a 5-4 lead.
