Major League Baseball announced Tuesday that it will launch an investigation into the Seattle Mariners following allegations of workplace gender and racial discrimination by ex-club staffer, Dr. Lorena Martin.
Martin, who was fired as the Mariners' director of high performance on Oct. 10, took to social media Monday to level explosive accusations against her former employer -- specifically naming general manager Jerry Dipoto, skipper Scott Servais and director of player development Andy McKay.
In an Instagram post, she wrote that the three would call "LATINOS LAZY, DUMB, and STUPID, especially the DOMINICANS." The Mariners have strongly denied the accusations.
