Every year, the Mariners invite a group of non-roster players (NRIs) to round out their spring training roster. This year’s crop is very heavy on exciting, home grown prospects, but there’s always a hope for a change-of-scenery candidate or unheralded prospect who pops up with a surprising spring performance and turns some heads. To help you keep track of who’s who, we’ve sorted this year’s NRIs from Exciting (top prospects) to Less Exciting (retreads Old Friends) to ??? (there are only two of them, but still, it’s weird that it happened twice).
