SEATTLE, Wash. — Mariners General Manager Jerry Dipoto announced today the following medical update on Mariners infielder Shed Long Jr.:
Long Jr., 25, underwent a closed reduction intermedullary fixation of his right tibia on Sept. 22 to repair a stress fracture in his right shin. The surgery was performed by Dr. Lyle Cain in Birmingham, AL.
Long Jr. will begin his rehabilitation immediately and is expected to be recovered in time to appear in Spring Training games in 2021.
