SAN DIEGO, Calif. — Mariners General Manager Jerry Dipoto announced today that the Mariners traded Taijuan Walker to the Toronto Blue Jays in exchange for a player to be named later or cash considerations.
Walker, 28, made five starts for the Mariners this season, going 2–2 with a 4.00 ERA (12 ER, 27.0 IP), with 25 strikeouts and eight walks.
The 6-foot-4, 235-pound right-hander was originally drafted by the Mariners in the 1st round (43rd overall) of the 2010 MLB First-Year Player Draft out of Yucaipa High School (CA).
