Mariners suffer fifth straight loss after the All-Star break and 13th in last 15 games

OAKLAND, Calif. — The Mariners leave Oakland still searching for a formula that can give them a post-All-Star break victory.

Surrendering six home runs to the Athletics certainly wasn’t the solution as the Mariners fell to 0-5 since the break after a 10-2 defeat on Wednesday afternoon.

The Mariners, who begin a 10-day, 10-game homestand Friday against the Los Angeles Angels, have lost six games in a row for the fourth time this season. Maybe home cooking can help a bit after they fell to 39-60 after their 13th loss in 15 games.

In five road losses to the Angels and A’s, Seattle was outscored 47-9.
