The naming rights to the Mariners' stadium, known for nearly 20 years as Safeco Field, will go to Bellevue-based T-Mobile, according to a Thursday morning report by Forbes.
Forbes cited anonymous sources in reporting the rumored $6 million-a-year deal.
Neither the Mariners nor T-Mobile have commented on the transaction.
Crews removed the Safeco Field lettering last week.
Safeco Field opened July 15, 1999 and is owned and operated by the Washington State Major League Baseball Stadium Public Facilities District.
Ownership asked for $180 million from the King County Council earlier this year for maintenance and upgrades.
