HOUSTON (AP) — The Seattle Mariners have only themselves to blame for their latest loss.
They will tell you as much.
The team squandered multiple scoring opportunities as well as a strong start by James Paxton, losing 3-2 in 10 innings to the Houston Astros on Thursday night to snap a three-game win streak.
"We didn't play very well tonight," manager Lloyd McClendon said. "It was one of those games that looked extremely close because we kept it close.
"We had opportunities to certainly put some runs on the board and we didn't do it.
