Today the Mariners played a 9-inning baseball game.
Recap:
GOODYEAR, Ariz. — The Mariners dropped Monday afternoon’s contest to the Cleveland Indians by a 10–0 score at Goodyear Ballpark. Starting pitcher Yusei Kikuchi tossed 3.0 innings, allowing one run on two hits and two walks.
Kikuchi got himself out of a bases-loaded jam in the first inning, inducing a 4–6–3 groundout double play to escape any damage. The second inning was smooth sailing for the left-hander, going three up, three down with a trio of groundouts. Kikuchi’s lone blemish on the afternoon was allowing a solo home run to Cleveland’s Yu Chang in the third inning, promptly retiring the next three batters he faced on three more groundouts before exiting the ballgame.
