SEATTLE -- The Red Sox and Mariners paid tribute to Negro League players on Saturday night at Safeco Field, donning throwback uniforms for the Boston Royal Giants and Seattle Steelheads of 1946.
The Red Sox wore road gray uniforms with navy trim and "BOSTON" in block letters across the front, and dark blue caps with red trim and absent a "B" on the front.
The Mariners wore cream uniforms with "Seattle" across the front in black block letters trimmed in gray. The cap was black with a cream "S." Neither team had names on the back of their jerseys on Saturday.
