PEORIA, Ariz. — Seattle Mariners President of Baseball Operations Jerry Dipoto announced today the following roster move:
· Sergio Romo, RHP, signed to a 1-year Major League contract.
Seattle’s Major League, 40-man, roster is now at 39 players.
Romo, 39, is 42–35 with 137 saves and a 3.10 ERA (243 ER, 704.2 IP) with 173 walks and 775 strikeouts in 798 games across 14 Major League seasons with San Francisco (2008–16), Los Angeles-NL (2017), Tampa Bay (2017–18), Miami (2019), Minnesota (2019–20) and Oakland (2021). In 2021, he notched 3 saves and recorded 60 strikeouts in 66 appearances with the Athletics.
