PEORIA, Ariz. — The Mariners continued Cactus League play tonight with a 3–0 shutout victory over the Chicago White Sox at Peoria Stadium. Marco Gonzales made his second start of the spring, tossing 4.0 scoreless innings with 1 strikeout before handing the game over to the bullpen.
Paul Sewald took the ball first in relief of Gonzales, beginning a stream of five relievers for the Mariners: Sewald (1.0 IP), Ken Giles (1.0), Drew Steckenrider (1.0), Andrés Muñoz (1.0) and Devin Sweet (1.0).
Adam Frazier led the way for the Mariners on offense, scoring in the first inning to give the Mariners a 1-0 lead after knocking a leadoff double into the left-center field gap.
