Mariners shortstop Jean Segura sidelined for a second game with a forearm infection

Segura saw a doctor on Friday morning to try and have some infection removed.

BOSTON — Jean Segura was out of the lineup for a second straight game because of an infection his right forearm. The hope is that Segura will be able to play on Saturday at Fenway Park.

“Jean actually saw a doctor this morning,” manager Scott Servais said. “They tried to draw some of the infection out, but he’s still pretty sore. He’s not in the lineup tonight, of course.”

The infection stems from a slide at home against the Angels at Safeco Field.
