Mariners Select Neidert and Moore in MLB Draft

The Mariners made two selections in the first day of the 2015 Major League Baseball Draft and drafted a pair of right-handed pitchers.

RHP Nick Neidert (NYE-dert) was the Mariners first selection and the 60th overall pick in the draft. He played prep baseball at Peachtree Ridge High School in Lawrenceville, GA. As a senior at Peachtree Ridge he was named 7-AAAAAA All-Region. The 6-1, 185-pound right-hander was selected as a 1st-team All-American and Southeast All-Region 1st-team by Perfect Game in 2015. The 18-year-old signed a national letter of intent to play college baseball at the University of South Carolina.
