With their second-round selection Monday night, the Mariners chose Louisville center fielder Josh Stowers with the 54th overall pick in the MLB draft.
As a junior this year, Stowers had a . 336 batting average with 72 runs, 14 doubles, four triples, nine home runs, 60 RBI, 52 walks, 36 stolen bases, a .477 on-base percentage and a .559 slugging percentage over 62 games.
He was named to the Atlantic Coast Conference first team.
The 21-year-old is a native of Chicago.
