SEATTLE, Wash. — Seattle Mariners Director of Amateur Scouting Scott Hunter announced today that the club selected 5 players on the second day of the 2020 MLB Player Draft. Rounds 2 to 5 were conducted today. The Mariners selected 6 players combined in the 2020 Draft.
In the 5-round Draft, the Mariners selected three pitchers (three right-handed pitchers), two infielders and one outfielder. Of the 6 draft picks, all six were college selections.
2nd Round, 43rd Overall — Zach DeLoach, OF, Texas A&M
DeLoach, 21, hit .353 with 22 runs scored, 8 doubles, 1 triple, 5 home runs, 23 RBI and 8 stolen bases in 37 games in the Cape Cod League in the summer of 2019.
