Tuesday’s Midsummer Classic made history, but so did a pair of Mariners.
The 2018 MLB All-Star Game featured a record 10 home runs and saw plenty of strikes -- 25 strikeouts total between the teams -- as the American League topped the National League, 8-6, in 10 innings Tuesday night at Nationals Park in Washington D.C.
But Mariners shortstop Jean Segura and pitcher Edwin Diaz etched their names in the game’s history books, too.

Segura dazzled from the plate for the AL and put up an MVP-caliber performance (despite those honors going to the Astros’ Alex Bregman) in the Midsummer Classic, going 2-for-2 with two runs in three at-bats.
