The life of a baseball scout can be a lonely one without much recognition. But there are times when a lifetime full of great work is honored.
On Saturday night in Los Angeles at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, longtime Mariners’ scout Ken Madeja received one of those honors.
At the 13th annual Pro Baseball Scouts Foundation dinner, Madeja was given the prestigious Legends in Scouting Award. He’s currently serving as a special assistant to general manager Jerry Dipoto and has been with the Mariners for 28 seasons, joining the club in 1988 as an area scout.
