Jonathan Aro called up from Tacoma, looking to make his first appearance with the Mariners
BOSTON — It hasn’t happened in these first two games at Fenway Park, but Jonathan Aro would love to step on the mound and face some of his old friends and teammates.
It was fitting that when the Mariners needed bullpen help and they called on Aro to provide some depth and versatility that his first series back in the big leagues would be in Boston against the Red Sox organization that signed and developed him out of the Dominican Republic.
“It’s always special to come back where I got my start,” he said through interpreter Fernando Alcala.
