Mariners General Manager Jerry Dipoto announced today the following roster moves:
· Thyago Vieira, RHP, recalled from AAA Tacoma.
· Christian Bergman, RHP, optioned to AAA Tacoma (post-game 8/13).
Vieira (#40) will be in uniform and available for tonight’s (7:10 p.m.) game vs. the Baltimore Orioles at Safeco Field.
Vieira (pronounced “chee-AH-go” “vee-AIR-ah”), 24, will be making his Major League debut with his first appearance. He earned 2 saves while posting a 3.18 ERA (4 ER, 11.1 IP) with 10 strikeouts and 6 walks in 7 relief appearances with AAA Tacoma.
