Manager Scott Servais said he will look at matchups when deciding who to play in the outfield among Aoki, Seth Smith, Ben Gamel, Franklin Gutierrez and Guillermo Heredia.
The Mariners recalled outfielder Norichika Aoki from Class AAA Tacoma on Tuesday.
Aoki was sent to Tacoma near the end of August because the Mariners faced a run of left-handed pitching, which Aoki has struggled with this season.
With Aoki’s return, manager Scott Servais said he will look at matchups when deciding who will play among his crowded outfield of Aoki, Seth Smith, Ben Gamel, Franklin Gutierrez and Guillermo Heredia.
