Mariners recall Donn Roach to help provide bullpen relief

The Mariners recalled right-hander Donn Roach from Tacoma. The reliever was available to pitch Monday, if needed.

After using six pitchers in Sunday night’s 7-6, 12-inning loss to the Cubs, Roach could provide some relief for the worn Seattle bullpen.

“He’ll fill in,” manager Scott Servais said. “In the length situation, tonight or tomorrow, we’ll see if he can help us out.”

Roach made three appearances out of the bullpen for Seattle earlier in the year, posting a 1-0 record and a 10.80 ERA in 31/3 innings. The 26-year-old has made 17 starts and four relief appearances for Class AAA Tacoma this year, compiling a 4.
