The Mariners made a minor trade on Sunday afternoon, bringing back a prospect that was dealt away in the offseason.
Seattle picked up infielder Patrick Kivlehan from the Texas Rangers for a player to be named later or cash considerations. Kivlehan was traded to Texas as the player to be named later this offseason along with James Jones and Tom Wilhelmsen as part of the deal that brought centerfielder Leonys Martin and reliever Anthony Bass to Seattle. Bass later opted to play in Japan.
To make room for Kivlehan on the 40-man roster, the Mariners placed right-handed reliever Evan Scribner on the 60-day disabled list with a lat strain.
