PEORIA, Ariz. — Top prospects from the Seattle Mariners and San Diego Padres squared off today as part of Major League Baseball’s inaugural “Spring Breakout” Game today at Peoria Stadium, with the Padres coming out on top by a 13–10 score.
The Mariners offense shined, scoring 10 runs and out-hitting the Padres by an 11-to-7 advantage. Seattle fell into an early 7–1 hole after two innings, but rallied back to take an 8–7 lead. Tyler Locklear singled to open the fourth inning and scored on an Aidan Smith RBI single, his second hit of the game.
