Mariners general manager Jerry Dipoto announced promotions for three members of the front office and an addition to his staff Thursday.
Jeff Kingston has been promoted to vice president and assistant general manager of baseball operations. Kingston has been Seattle's assistant general manager for six seasons and served as interim general manager after Jack Zduriencik was fired Aug. 29 until Dipoto was hired a month later. Kingston joined the Mariners organization in 2009 after eight years working in the San Diego Padres' baseball operations department.
Tom Allison, who was the team's director of professional scouting, has been promoted to vice president of player personnel.
