Mariners General Manager Jerry Dipoto announced today that the club has outrighted right-handed pitcher Christian Bergman to AAA Tacoma.
Bergman, 29, who was designated for assignment yesterday (8/15), made 2 relief appearances with the Mariners after being selected from AAA Tacoma prior to Saturday’s game. He combined for 5.0 scoreless innings in relief — including 4.0 scoreless innings Sunday vs. the Angels — scattering 2 hits and 1 hit batsman while striking out 3. Overall, the 6-foot-1, 195-pound right-hander is 4–4 with a 4.91 ERA (28 ER, 51.1 IP) with 33 strikeouts and 14 walks in 11 games (8 starts) over two stints (5/7–6/20 and 8/12–13) with Seattle this season.
