Mariners General Manager Jerry Dipoto announced today that the Mariners have outrighted left-handed pitcher Dario Alvarez to Triple-A Tacoma.
Seattle’s Major League, 40-man roster is now at 38 players.
Alvarez, 29, was claimed off waivers by the Mariners from the Chicago Cubs on March 21, 2018. In 5 relief appearances with Tacoma, he is 0–0 with a 2.84 ERA (2 ER, 6.1 IP). Alvarez has limited opponents to a .250 (6x24) average, while walking 6 and striking out 7.
In 2017, Alvarez went 2–0 with a 2.76 ERA (16.1 IP, 5 ER) in 20 games with the Rangers and held opponents scoreless in 16 of the 20 appearances.
