Mariners option José Marmolejos, Bryan Shaw, as rosters shrink to 28

The Mariners have demoted 1B/OF José Marmolejos and RHP Bryan Shaw to the Tacoma alternate site, bringing their active roster down to 28 as required today.

The #Mariners today made the following roster moves:

INF/OF José Marmolejos, optioned to alternate training site (post-game Aug. 5).
RHP Bryan Shaw, optioned to alternate training site (post-game Aug. 5).

While this shrinking was planned, the second cut in two weeks to the new normal of 26 active players will not take place.
