SEATTLE, Wash. — Seattle Mariners Executive Vice President & General Manager of Baseball Operations Jerry Dipoto announced today the following roster moves:
- José Marmolejos, INF/OF, optioned to alternate training site (post-game Aug. 5).
- Bryan Shaw, RHP, optioned to alternate training site (post-game Aug. 5).
With today’s roster moves, the Mariners active roster is now at 28 players. Major League Baseball required all teams to reduce their roster to 28 active players by today.
Marmolejos, 27, made his Major League debut on Opening Day (7/24 at LAA) after being named to his first career Opening Day roster.
