Seattle manager Scott Servais is keeping quiet about which Rainiers will join the big-league club.
OAKLAND, Calif. — The Tacoma Rainiers’ bid for a Pacific Coast League championship ended on Saturday night at Cheney Stadium with a disappointing 5-4 loss to El Paso. The Chihuahuas won the best-of-5 series 3-1, ending the Rainiers’ season. But for at least three players on the Mariners’ 40-man roster, it means a trip to the big leagues. The team plans to add them for depth as rosters expand in September.
“They’ll report tomorrow in Anaheim,” Mariners manager Scott Servais said. “It will be just a small number of guys.
