Saturday marks the 19th time this season that Brad Miller is in center field for the Seattle Mariners and 34th total in the outfield. It's been a drastic change for a player who was exclusively an infielder and primarily a shortstop for the first two seasons of his MLB career.
While he's been seeing the majority of his playing time in the last month in the outfield, don't expect that to become his main position next year. In fact, don't expect him to really have a main position.
"I really believe Brad is the prototypical-type super utility guy," Mariners manager Lloyd McClendon said prior to Saturday's game with Oakland.
