The Mariners had designated Olson for assignment to make room on the 40 man roster for A.J. Schugel who they claimed from the Arizona Diamondbacks. Olson, was born in Spokane Washington, attended University High School and a Gonzaga Bulldog product was drafted by the Mariners in the seventh round of the 2013 draft. He has been both a reliever and a starter during his career. The Los Angeles Dodgers have clearly been looking for arms due to the loss of Zack Grienke to free agency and now backing out of the deal with Hisashi Iwakuma. This will help give the Dodgers more arms in camp to compete.
