The Seattle Mariners announced on Saturday morning that Rickie Weeks has been designated for assignment. Danny Farquhar has been recalled from Tacoma in a corresponding move. Mariners’ fans have been begging for Seattle to give up on Weeks for quite some time, so today’s move should appease the disgruntled fan base.
