The Mariners family is mourning the passing of the team’s first physician and medical director Dr. Larry Pedegana.
Dr. Pedegana, an orthopedist who cared for Mariners players from the team’s founding in 1977 until 2006, died of cancer on November 13, at the age of 74.
Mariners President and COO Kevin Mather issued this statement today:
“Larry Pedegana was a very important member of the Mariners organization from its inception in 1977 to 2006. His contributions of his skill and advice and service to our franchise, our players and our training staff are too many to mention.
