Felix felt he had the stuff for another perfect game when he took the mound on April 24 against the Minnesota Twins. He needed just 38 pitches as he cruised through the first 12 batters, striking out six of them. He ended up yielding five hits, but he absolutely dominated the Twins for a complete-game shutout (2-0) victory. Felix got all the offense he would need off the bat of Nelson Cruz, whose Major League leading ninth home run sailed 442 feet into the second deck of the left field bleachers.
Two starts later, May 4, Felix was once again in control at Anaheim, and Nelson Cruz showed why he was named American League Player of the Month for April.
