Class AA Jackson swept the weekly player and pitcher of the week honors for the Southern League. Outfielder Tyler O’Neill and starter Ryan Yarbrough picked up the respective awards.
O’Neill went 8-for-24 with a homer, a triple, four doubles, six walks and 11 RBI during the week. The powerful slugger is tied for third in batting average (.315), tied for second in home runs (9), first in RBI (38), tied for first in hits (58), third in slugging percentage (.560), tied for second in extra-base hits (25) and first in total bases (103).
In two starts, Yarbrough went 2-0 allowing just one earned run on nine hits in 13 innings pitched.
