The Mariners made another series of roster moves before Tuesday’s game. They:
- selected left-handed pitcher Andrew Albers from Triple-A Tacoma to start Tuesday’s game. Albers, 31, is making his first big-league start of the season.
- recalled right-handed pitcher Sam Gaviglio from Tacoma.
- optioned Casey Lawrence and rookie Thyago Vieira to Tacoma. Vieira made his major-league debut on Monday night and spent one day in the majors.
- designated veteran pitcher Christian Bergman for assignment.
The moves only continue the Mariners’ shuffling of the pitching staff after Yovani Gallardo lasted only four innings on Monday.
