Mariners lose a game and another starting pitcher, falling 4-2 to the White Sox

Marco Gonzales gave up two runs in the first inning, including a lead-off homer to Adam Engel on the very first pitch he threw in his outing. He left the game an inning later after being struck by a line drive and suffering a right-hand contusion.

Chicago’s other run came of towering solo homer from slugging White Sox prospect Zack Collins off of left Marc Rzepczynski.

The Mariners two runs came on RBI triple from Jean Segura in the fourth inning and fielder’s choice that scored Michael Marjama in the fifth inning.

Edwin Diaz also worked a 1-2-3 inning of relief.
