The Mariners have installed expanded protective netting at Safeco Field. Protective netting at the ballpark now extends to the outside ends of both dugouts and reaches a height of 11-feet above field level.
The netting above the dugouts is retractable, allowing fans to interact with players during batting practice and pregame activities.
The Mariners consulted with Major League Baseball and HOK, a global architectural firm, on design and engineering for the project.
