The Mariners wasted very little time jumping on struggling Cleveland pitcher Josh Tomlin. They put up a quick 5 spot in the top of the second, all 5 runs scoring with 2 outs. Ryon Healy had the first of his 3 big hits on the day, scoring Mitch Haniger from first on an RBI double.
Healy would then score on a Dee Gordon single, who scored on Jean Segura’s single. Robinson Cano capped the inning with a pretty 2 run home run, and the Mariners jumped ahead 5-0. However, Seattle was not done scoring on the day.
Healy tacked on a run in the 6th with a solo home run over the tall wall in left field.
