Mariners Hall of Famer Lou Piniella hired by Reds as senior advisor to baseball operations

Lou Piniella, the winningest manager in Mariners history and a member of the team’s Hall of Fame, was hired Friday by the Cincinnati Reds as a senior advisor to baseball operations.

The 72-year-old Piniella will serve as a consultant with the Reds and spend time with the team in spring training, MLB.com reported. He managed the Reds from 1990-92 and led them to the World Series title in 1990.
