The Seattle Mariners (4-4) got back to .500 with a win on Wednesday afternoon against a split squad Kansas City Royals (3-5) in Peoria, AZ. The M’s put up 7 runs and outlast the Kansas City Royals to end up on top 7-5. Adrian Sampson (1-0, 6.75 ERA) earned the win for the Mariners, and Brooks Pounders (0-1, 18.00 ERA) took the loss for the Royals. Jonathan Aro closed it out for Seattle in the ninth for his second save of the spring.
Taijuan Walker got the start for Seattle, and after two quick outs in the first inning gave up two singles to Lorenzo Cain and Kendrys Morales.
