SEATTLE, Wash. — Mariners General Manager Jerry Dipoto announced today the club has invited 26 players to Major League Spring Training.
Of the 26 players that have been added to the Spring Training roster (in addition to the 40-man roster), 11 were members of the Mariners organization last season and 9 are homegrown products having been originally drafted or signed by Seattle.
Outfielder Ichiro Suzuki is entering his 19th season with a Major League organization, including his 14th with Seattle, after 9 seasons in Japan’s Pacific League. He has been invited to Spring Training as a non-roster invitee and is the only invitee to have appeared with the Mariners in 2018.
