Many consider Edgar Martinez the best right-handed hitter of his generation.
But at 53 years old and a dozen years removed from his final season in the big leagues, nobody would blame the Mariners hitting coach if he never faced live pitching again.
Yet Tuesday in Houston, Martinez apparently took batting practice and began spraying line drives all over Minute Maid Park, even sending at least one ball over the left-field fence and into a section of bleachers known as the Crawford Boxes.
"Did you guys see Edgar's show today?" manager Scott Servais asked reporters before the Mariners fell, 5-2.
