SEATTLE -- Mariners general manager Jerry Dipoto engineered his second trade in two days on Thursday, sending hard-throwing relief prospect Thyago Vieira to the White Sox in exchange for an undisclosed amount of international slot money.
Seattle already had about $1.5 million in slot money for the coming year, which can be used to sign international prospects such as Japanese standout Shohei Ohtani.
Vieira was the second right-handed reliever dealt by Dipoto, who also sent Emilio Pagan and Minor League shortstop Alexander Campos to the A's on Wednesday in exchange for first baseman Ryon Healy.
