Mariners’ Danny Hultzen shut down with stiffness in shoulder

Mariners manager Scott Servais reported that Hultzen, the No. 2 overall pick in the 2011 draft, is experiencing stiffness in his shoulder following his bullpen session last Saturday. He is being shut down for the time being.

PEORIA, Ariz. – Left-hander Danny Hultzen’s perpetual comeback from 2013 shoulder surgery has hit another snag.

Hultzen, the Seattle Mariners’ No. 2 overall pick in the 2011 draft, is being converted to relieving. The hope was to get him in a game later this week, but on Wednesday morning, Mariners manager Scott Servais reported that Hultzen is experiencing stiffness in his shoulder following his bullpen session last Saturday.
