SEATTLE, Wash. — Seattle Mariners Executive Vice President & General Manager of Baseball Operations Jerry Dipoto announced today that the Mariners have claimed right-handed pitcher Casey Sadler off waivers from the Chicago Cubs.
Seattle’s Major League, 40-man, roster is now at 37 players.
Sadler, 30, was designated for assignment by the Chicago Cubs on Sept. 1. In 10 relief appearances with the Cubs this season, he posted a 5.79 ERA (6 ER, 9.1 IP) with 9 strikeouts and 8 walks.
He split the 2019 season between the Rays and Dodgers, going a combined 4–0 with 1 save and a 2.
